Jim Leblanc is a French DJ and producer greatly influenced and motivated by the mythical French Touch music. Born in Lyon in 1980, he started his DJ career at the age of 18 at local clubs in his hometown. Jim then went on to become resident DJ in several clubs in and around Lyon.
In 2003, he moved to Switzerland to become resident DJ at Club Indochine in Zurich, and to mix at the very exclusive Saint-Germain from opening until the club’s closure. Among many others, names such as Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Flavio Briatore, Roberto Cavalli, Busta Rhymes, Method Man & Redman, even Jay-Z have met and danced to Jim’s music mixes.
In 2004, Jim Leblanc took over the turntables at Gstaad’s GreenGo Club, and became Artistic Director of the glamorous venue. He then moved rapidly to become the favorite to the Swiss gilded youth scene and intoxicated VIPs worldwide. From then on, the hippest clubs in the world snapped favors from the young French talent, who transcended well-deserved and exceptional quality sets. From Boston to Saint-Tropez to Marrakesh or Sultanate of Oman, many renowned clubs such as the VIP room, Movida, Nikki Beach or even Mad in Lausanne warmly welcomed him with open arms.
It was in February 2010 that Laurent Wolf, approached Jim. Star DJ with more than one million discs sold, a Best DJ World Music Award in 2008 and collaborations with Beyoncé, Moby, and Madonna, Laurent became very rapidly interested in his work. They quickly produced a remix together (Igor Blaska – Green (Laurent Wolf and Jim Leblanc remix)) and Laurent has confided Jim the remix of his title track « Got Damn » to him, recorded with Timati, the Russian prince of rap.
In 2011 Jim remixed Jean Roch's single im alright feat. Kat Deluna and Flo-Rida and also created his own label, Monochrome. The call here was to stand against the different music style split-ups, which to him tends to oppose more than to unite people. He is convinced of the necessity to bring back and honor the roots of music, and to overcome divisions such as "underground" VS "mainstream" or "R & B / hip-hop"VS "house / electro. To Jim, music is about “sharing and emotions", and should have no boundaries.
Jim Leblanc’s success owes nothing to chance. With a strong passion for music and its history, his sound engineering diploma and a music culture that is sharp and eclectic, Jim produces original and unique sounds or remixes that he skillfully spreads in sets always well acclaimed by the public.
